Mike Sexton, the Poker Hall of Famer, is set to quit the World Poker Tour after playing for 15 years.
He is now taking up a new job as the Chairman of the Partypoker, an online poker site that started its operations in 2001. He was there to help during the early stages of the Partypoker site and now he has decided to become the Chairman of this popular gambling site.
Sexton’s seat in the WPT commentary team will be taken over by Tony Dunst as he has been with the WPT since 2010. Sexton is very popular on the World Poker Tour circuit as he is one of the best-known ambassadors of the game. He was also a quality player in his own right and has won the World Poker Tour title, Tournament of Champions title and the WSOP gold bracelet. World Poker Tour for season 7’s penultimate stop was concluded on Wednesday Evening. A total of 1476 entrants were attracted to 3.5K dollar World Poker Tour Seminole HRP Showdown. It was Griffin Paul, aged 22, who captured the top prize gone 5 days of action and he emerged with the kitty of $1 million awarded for the first place. The prize was accompanied by a Hublot Oceanographic 4000, Monster headphones in gold and also a seat of $15,400 for the end of season WPT World Championship.
Paul, before this win had just earned a total of $74,616 which comprised of the 441st finish $25,756 money from 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event and the prize money amounting to $24,030 earned from the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Stars with 32nd place finish back in March.
Paul said that he is speechless and it looked like a dream and he told the officials from SHRPO that the table was really tough and he encountered several remarkable players in the battle while emerged the winner.
